Home / Mitsubishi Outlander Sport vs Honda CR-V

Outlander Sport vs CR-V: Trim Levels

To get the exact car you want, having multiple trims to choose from means you can pick one that closely resembles what you’re after. The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport provides you with six different trim levels, while the Honda CR-V only gives you four.

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport vs Honda CR-V: Space and Size

Inside both vehicles, you get choices for your upholstery. For the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, select from three diverse materials, including fabric, black fabric with red stitching, and combination soft-touch. The Honda CR-V only offers two kinds of materials, like cloth and leather trim.
When it comes to cabin dimensions, some differences in size appear. While similar in some cases, the slight disparities can give you that extra space. In the Mitsubishi, the front legroom extends to 41.6 inches, while the Honda provides 41.3 inches. As for rear hip room, the Mitsubishi gives you 51.6 inches for more wiggle room, while the Honda offers less at 49.5 inches.
Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Interior

Outlander Sport vs CR-V: Exterior

Around the Bay Area, a car’s size can matter on the outside, especially when smoothly entering a tight parking space. With its compact configurations, the Mitsubishi will fit. It measures 171.9 inches in length, 71.3 inches in width, and 64.8 inches in height. Other cars may bypass a great parking space, but the Outlander Sport is up for the challenge.
The larger outer size of the Honda CR-V may prohibit you from attempting to fit into a tight parking space. This crossover’s length extends to 182.1 inches, while its width spans 73 inches. If you choose the CR-V trims with all-wheel drive (AWD), they stand 66.5 inches tall.

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Technology Features

Outlander Sport vs CR-V: Technology

On the Outlander Sport console, you’ll spot a 7-inch display audio system where you can see your apps and control the radio. If you want the premium level system, select the 8-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) system. Surprisingly, the Honda CR-V only offers their comparable 7-inch display audio touchscreen as optional. The CR-V has a 5-inch screen to start.
This may not seem like a high-tech feature, but an auto-dimming rearview mirror comes in both vehicles to reduce the glare of headlights in back of you. From base level to the premium trim, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport gives this convenient item standard, while the Honda CR-V only offers this as an option.

Outlander Sport vs CR-V: Performance

Under the hood of the Mitsubishi, you may see a 2.0L MIVEC 4-cylinder engine, or the available 2.4L MIVEC 4-cylinder engine. In the Honda, you only get one 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine.
If you’re going over rougher terrain, the Outlander Sport provides you with 8.5 inches of ground clearance, so you can protect the undercarriage of your car. While the AWD models in the CR-V lineup afford you 8.2 inches of ground clearance, if you drive the 2-wheel drive (2WD) trims, they only offer 7.8 inches of ground clearance. You’re that much closer to the ground.
