What’s new in the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander?

There have been a few members of the Mitsubishi family to reach iconic status on the automotive market, such as the Eclipse or the Lancer. The Mitsubishi Outlander is well on its way to joining that list, especially after its incredible redesign for the 2022 model year. Entering its fourth generation, the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the compact crossover segment. Platform & Powertrain

The Outlander didn’t just get a facelift or a basic redesign, it was completely rebuilt from the ground up, starting with a platform newly developed for the model. The platform was built in conjunction with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, and is thus based on the Nissan Rogue. The vehicle still offers seating for up to seven, but just about everything else about the vehicle’s platform is new. The same can be said for its powertrain, which revolves around a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine tethered to an 8-speed continuously variable transmission. It is available either with a two-wheel drivetrain or Super All-Wheel Control.

Specs & Features

Thanks to the redesign, the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander has plenty of impressive specifications and exciting features to provide drivers and passengers alike. For example, with the new aforementioned S-AWD drive system, drivers will be able to choose from six different driving modes. Passengers, on the other hand, will certainly enjoy the luxurious amenities of the interior, even all the way back in the third row.
