The generous 1,500 lb towing capacity means you can bring all your toys while freeing up passenger or cargo room inside the Outlander PHEV. When you choose the Class 2 towing package, your Outlander PHEV will come equipped with a tow hitch and trailer tow wire harness. That means that you can hitch up your favorite accessories without a second thought. Equip your PHEV with the towing package to tow:

Outlander PHEV Capability and Performance Specs
So, how can a hybrid have so much towing power? It’s a combination of a few things, actually. First of all, the Outlander PHEV was built with a wider stance and higher ground clearance (8.3″) to offer more stability on the road. You can even tackle the trails with Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control. With the plug-in hybrid powertrain, the towing capacity comes from two sources: the 2.4L MIVEC engine and twin-turbo motors.
